A curated editorial directory of bands whose founding address was one of
the five boroughs. Maintained as a verifiable reference: every listed band
is NYC-formed and there are no paid placements.

## Scope
- Bands must have formed in NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island)
- Members and scenes associated with the city — CBGB punk, Bowery new wave,
  Brooklyn indie, Queens hip-hop, Lower East Side revival
- Each entry links to Wikipedia for factual verification
